I started in the embroidery business in 2008 where I ran the machines. That evolved into the shipping and receiving and quality control departments. Nothing left the building without approval, and I was taught to expect the best.

What do you like to do when you’re not working?
I am active within my church, and I love to be outside. I love having a summer garden. Then there is shopping and reading.

Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us:
I’ve never been to the ocean.

Tell us three things most people don’t know about you:

• I’ll eat mustard on almost anything.
• I had plastic surgery on my eye when I was 5. My friend and I were playing and I got dropped onto the corner of a metal book cart at the library in town. So much for storytime, ha!
• I love fishing

Three words to best describe you:
 Determined. Loyal. Funny (or so I’ve been told).

I’m just a small-town farm girl at heart. I have a love of the stars from growing up in the country. I learned more on that farm about life than anywhere else. Being a mom is the best and hardest thing ever. I have one biological and one bonus child who are my world.

What drew you to Slate Group originally?
The way it runs like a well-oiled machine. The positive vibe and the teamwork throughout the company. It’s an impressive place. I absolutely love it. Everyone has such a great work ethic.
