Stationery Is Not Dead: A Case Study

Recently, we had an opportunity to work with the DAHU Agency (Austin, TX) as they designed a stationery package for a new wealth management company – Clear Rock Advisors. After receiving some pushback on their desired paper selections and designs from another vendor, Mindy League of the DAHU Agency, reached out to Capital Printing to assist with this project.
As our first project for a new agency, we knew we had to be at the top of our game. From the beginning, DAHU made the importance of this project perfectly clear. Their client’s brand represents high quality client service and they work with people who need to trust them to manage their family’s wealth in the $3M and up range. DAHU had already invested a great deal of time developing the brand with a logo design, brand guidelines and a website. Completing the stationery package with the right paper selection and print quality were critical to the success of the Clear Rock corporate ID.

Since most pieces were more efficient to be produced on our half size offset presses, the entire project was printed at Slate Group (Lubbock, TX) to maintain color consistency across the multiple components of the project.

Business Cards
The business cards and note cards ran together on a single press run in order to reduce paper costs while providing a thicker stock for the note cards.
- Printed 4/4 on 130# Classic Laid Cover Avalanche White.
Notecards
In order to ensure a perfect round corner, the client elected to purchase a multiple up die and die cut the round corners.
Capacity Folder
The pocket folder was a custom capacity folder with one capacity pocket and one regular pocket.
- Printed 4/0 on 130# Sterling Premium Dull Cover.
Letterhead + Envelope
The envelope was printed and then shipped to a converter in order to achieve the design element of a printed flap.
- The letterhead and envelope were printed 4/0 on 75# Classic Laid Text Avalanche White.

Capital Printing is located in Austin, Texas and is a second location of Slate Group. By moving into Austin, Slate Group not only increased its geographic footprint, but were able to expand its capabilities footprint as well by adding 40” offset presses.
