It’s that time of year again!
Make sure you get your Christmas and Holiday cards out on time! Below are 5 Steps to help you stay on track and how much time to plan for each stage in the process.
You should allow about 36-47 days to produce your cards from idea to finish.
The countdown to Christmas…

1. Planning and Design
Concept is always the most difficult hurdle. Have you ever heard “Creativity is failing over and over until you find something that works”? So true…. so very true.
Time to Budget: 2-3 Weeks

2. Custom Stock + Foils
Get something really creative in your customers hands by using specialty options. Allow 3-5 days for any custom stocks/foils or die lines to be ordered and received.
Time to Budget: 3-5 Days

3. Revisions
Whether you designed your piece in-house, or we did it for you, it is always a good idea to allow a few days for revisions. A fresh set of eyes may catch something the entire building looked over for days. Sometimes, you change your mind about what you want. Either way, give yourself a little breathing room… just in case.
Time to Budget: 1 Week

4. Print Time
Relax, we’ve got it from here! Depending on any specialty finishes you may use (and we hope you used something cool, it is Christmas after all) allow 5-7 days for us to get your piece printed.
Time to Budget: 5-7 Days

5. Mailing
Estimate about one week for your mailer to arrive with your clients. This is another thing that could take more or less time, depending on which mailing class you use. Keep in mind some classes of mail take longer to arrive during the holidays.
